Review Methodology
Last updated: 11 June 2026
This page explains the methodology behind our insurance comparisons and product assessments. Our goal is to help readers shortlist options and then confirm details with a licensed advisor or the insurer.
What we assess
- Coverage and inclusions — what the policy protects, sum-insured options and key benefits.
- Exclusions and waiting periods — what is not covered and for how long.
- Premium and value — indicative cost relative to coverage for representative profiles.
- Claim settlement record — publicly reported claim settlement ratios, where available.
- Riders and flexibility — optional add-ons and customisation.
- Service and accessibility — network/cashless reach and digital servicing.
- Regulatory standing — IRDAI registration and compliance.
Our sources
We rely on official insurer brochures and policy wordings, IRDAI circulars and public disclosures, and recognised industry data. Figures are indicative and subject to change.
How we score
Where we rank or rate products, scores reflect the factors above weighted by their importance to a typical buyer. Ratings are relative guidance, not guarantees of suitability.
Independence and limitations
Our assessments are editorially independent and not influenced by affiliate relationships (see Affiliate Disclosure). Reviews are general information, not a recommendation to buy a specific product. Always read the policy document and consult a licensed advisor. See our Disclaimer.
