Latest health insurance news, plan comparisons and expert tips on coverage, cashless claims and family floater policies.
Health insurance pays for hospitalisation and related medical costs in India and protects your savings from a large bill. When you compare plans, the details that decide a real claim matter more than the premium alone: the sum insured (your annual cover), the waiting periods (an initial 30 days, longer waits for specific illnesses, and up to three years for pre-existing diseases), room-rent limits, co-payment, sub-limits on specific treatments, and the size of the cashless hospital network. A cheaper policy with a tight room-rent cap or a heavy co-pay can cost you far more at claim time. New buyers should also weigh restoration benefits, no-claim bonus and day-care cover.
Our guides explain each of these in plain language. Start with the Health Insurance Hub and the glossary.
